Indian Summer Finally Showed Up!

I post the Photos of the Day (taken earlier this year)
in defiance of all things cold, wet and/or white.
Something tells me this independent-minded stalk of corn would quite agree.
Hail the return of Indian Summer!
Seriously, who doesn't love it when it's 64 degrees after Thanksgiving and
you don't even need a jacket when you go for a jog?

Favorite Books

Well, in fiction there's John Grisham's "The Street Lawyer" and "The Firm;" my entire Multnomah/Palisades collection, especially the Robin Jones Gunn and Dee Henderson series;"Lord of the Rings" and the complete "Chronicles of Narnia;" my Sara Teasdale poetry anthology; Siri L. Mitchell's "Kissing Adrien" and "The Cubicle Next Door;" Lori Wick's "Pretense" and "The Princess" novels; should I go on? In non-fiction, there's John Eldredge's "Wild at Heart" and "Captivating;" the Kiersey Temperament Sorter II; Gary Chapman's Five Love Languages series; Rick Warren's "Purpose-Driven Life;" just about anything by Andy Stanley or Chip Ingram; and all the baby name books I consult as references on the meanings of people's names. Under "reference materials," we also have my secret indulgence: the four vocab books I loved so much in high school, I ordered brand-new ones again later in life. And in children's literature, we have the entire Mini & Maxi Muffin series, "Good Night, Moon," and Sandol Stoddard Warburg's "I Like You."
